After #mkdir -p /var/lib/rpm-state #rpm -U java-1.7.0-openjdk-1.7.0.221-2.6.18.0.el610.x8664.rpm I did the suggested #prelink -a #prelink -nvp grep '/usr/lib/jvm' and once more (as gpk GUI reappered and could not be stopped) # prelink -a No use, gpk was still active, so decided to overkill #reboot -h now This curiously failed when rebooting, with a strange 'fan. The files required by the AMD Installer to correctly install the drivers for your AMD graphics hardware are missing.
